As a kid I loved going to parades. It's not something that I did a lot of as an adult, until the last couple of years. Without a little one in tow it just didn't seem right. But if there is something
Yes, for some St. Patrick's Day is an excuse to drink from sun up to sun down (and some even before that). But you can take the kids down to see the parade, catch some beads and candy and don't forget see the bands and clowns! There are a lot of fun activities around that don't require drinking and some great photo opportunities.
If you are planning on going to the St. Patrick's Day Parade downtown Detroit be sure there to get there with plenty of time. Last year we had to park about 2 miles away and walk in - parking is limited, but you can always park and walk in from the surrounding areas. Check out the local Irish restaurants for some fantastic food and some great music too!
